Default 2000 Johnson Trim Not Working

My trim is not working on my 150 Johnson. It was working when I was running the boat, but when I got to the dock, the motor would only trim up about half way, and then stopped. The electric motor is working, and no apparent leaks around the cylinders. Is there a way to add oil if it is low? Any ideas? I have some pics of the unit on the boat is they are needed for I.D. Thanks.
Chuck

The oil fill, use Power Trim fluid or ATF, is on the stb. side of the trim unit with the motor tilted up. If you can trim it up enough, have someone push the UP button while you lift the gearcase then use the plastic "service" latch to hold the motor up. If that doesn't work, turn the RELEASE screw on the port side about 3-4 turn out, don't force it beyond the snap ring, then lift the gearcase to tilt the motor all the way to the "service" latch.

If it was low on fluid and you can't find a leak, look for a rough spot or corrosion about 3" down from the center ram (tilt ram). When the motor is resting on the trailering support bracket, that is where the tilt ram meets the top of the cylinder and dust, sand, etc. holds moisture and causes corrosion. The rough corrosion tears the sealing oring and oil will seep out.

Thank-you,
This is a picture of the starboard side tilt. This is a one piece unit, and I see no place to put in oil except for the screw in the side that is visible in the photo.

The plastic cap with the screw slot is the fill. Remove it and do not lose the oring inside it. Fill until fluid starts to run out and hit the UP button for a moment, then recheck the oil level. Only use finger pressure to install the cap, no tools! Run the motor all the way up and down 3 times then recheck the oil as that will bleed the system of air.

Run your fingernail on the center tilt ram and I can see marks on it. If you can feel the corrosion marks, then you may have comprised the seal in the cylinder cap.
