Default Severely corroded trim motor

I would appreciate your thoughts on a corrosion issue with the trim motor of a 2005 Merc 90 4-stroke. This engine is fitted on a boat that sees 100% saltwater use but is rinsed with saltaway after every trip and is garage kept. The exterior casing of the trim motor is severely corroded to the point where the base metal is flaking off (despite this, the tilt/trim continue to work fine). Is this some sort of grounding problem or did Merc have a bad run of trim motora?

Thanks very much.

Thanks for your reply - I had previously read that thread. In this case, when the boat/outboard were brand new and even before they ever got wet for the 1st time, the block and trim motor housing received a thick coat of Merc's "Corrosion Guard" or "Corrosion Blocker" (whatever Merc calls their product). The trim motor has received follow-up coatings of the same product about every three months in an effort to prevent this but no dice. That's why I was thinking perhaps the trim motor was not grounded properly. It has a thin ground wire running from the bottom of it to the corrosion control anode directly beneath it
