Default Question on 1972 Evinrude 50hp

I have this engine that had a fired stator on it. So I replaced the stator and rectifier. I still have no spark at both coils. Would it be possible for both coils to be dead and the power pack. Someone had mentioned the iginition switches on these are notorious for failing, anyway of trouble shooting this.
Thanks

Remove the black yellow wire from the ignition switch and the kill switch (if you have one) and check for spark. If there is now spark, the switch was bad. If not, remove the same colored wire from the igntion pack (also called Power Pak) and try again. If still no spark, then components are bad.

You can download a troubleshooting manual from the cdielectronics website under the downloads button. They give specs for the components and how to check things. You will need a good digital meter and a DVA adapter to test the parts for resistance and outputs. You may also need a flywheel puller to get to the stator and timer base for inspection. Good luck.
