The factory has approved an optional sparkplug for 1999 and later FICHT and Evinrude DI outboards, 200hp thru 250hp.
The Champion QC10WEP sparkplug lasts longer in these motors due to its Iridium spark pad on the electrodes. They also have less RFI emissions to help your electronics.
If you run at slow speeds or troll a lot, these plugs will last up to twice as long as the original QC12PEP plugs.
The QC10WEP is available under part no. 5007120 in a 4-pack, and #763973 in a 24-shop pack. Price is $11.99 each
This is not a recall or a warranty item for these motors, just an optional plug to help motors that may have experienced short plug life. QC10WEP plugs are only recommended for the 200, 225, and 250 hp DI motors.
Re: QC10WEP Sparkplug for Evinrude FICHTS & DI motors
Is that just for the Fichts or for Etecs also. My 2006 250 ETEC lists the QC10PEP B as the plug, but I heard there is a new model for the ETEc as well, is that the QC10WEP you mentioned here, or another part number. Thankx

The 3.3L V6 E-TECs have been using the QC10WEP for quite a while now which give longer life than the QC10PEP plugs formerly recommended for earlier E-TECs.
Re: QC10WEP Sparkplug for Evinrude FICHTS & DI motors
Thanks for the info. I was about to change my plugs for the new season. I have the 200 DI made by Bombardier. So far, it has been good to me.
I read in my manual that the plugs must be installed by the service tech guys or serious damage may result. Is that a hokey statement, or is that because of the plugs need to be indexed or some sort of mystery I am missing.
RE: QC10WEP Sparkplug for Evinrude FICHTS & DI motors
Another question, is the QC10WEP a dual electrode plug? IF so, does it fall under the indexing guidance for the single electrode plug or something different?
